About orch-refine-code

orch-refine-code

Orchestrate a behavior-preserving refactor

orch-refine-code is an agent skill from the ECC collection by affaan-m, listed on skills.sh. It orchestrates a behaviour-preserving refactor: it confirms the tests are green, restructures the code without changing what it does, keeps the tests green throughout, reviews the result, and makes a gated commit. It is a thin wrapper over the shared orch-pipeline engine, which delegates each phase to matching ECC agents and commands rather than doing the work itself. It applies when the goal is better structure with the same behaviour, such as extracting modules, removing duplication, deleting dead code, reducing nesting, or renaming for clarity. The skill is explicit about its boundary: if the behaviour is meant to change at all, it is the wrong skill, and the work belongs to orch-change-feature or orch-fix-defect. A skill is a SKILL.md file of instructions that an AI agent loads when a task calls for it. It is free and open source, and the skills.sh listing shows all three security audits passing.
