pdftk-server

Command-line PDF manipulation covering merging, splitting, encryption

pdftk-server is an agent skill from the github/awesome-copilot collection for working with PDF files through PDFtk Server, a command-line tool. It can merge and split PDFs, rotate pages, encrypt and decrypt files, fill form fields from FDF or XFDF data with optional flattening to lock them, apply background watermarks and foreground stamps, extract metadata, bookmarks and form field information, repair damaged files, attach or extract embedded files, remove specific pages, collate separately scanned even and odd pages, and compress or decompress page streams. The skill covers these as commands the agent can run, and it is triggered by requests to merge, split, rotate, encrypt or fill PDFs. It is useful for office and administrative work that involves many documents, such as combining a set of forms, stamping a batch of pages, or removing sensitive pages before sharing. Commands that encrypt or remove content change files, so the agent should write results to new files and keep the originals, and passwords for encryption should not be pasted into a chat where they might be stored. Removing pages or flattening forms is not always reversible from the output alone, so the originals should be kept until the result is checked. The skill is installed with the skills CLI from the github/awesome-copilot repository. Its skills.sh page showed about 10.0K installs and passing results from three security audits at the time of the scan.
