Persistent file-based planning for multi-step AI-agent work
by othmanadiFree
Description
Pi-planning-with-files is an agent skill for multi-step work that keeps the plan on disk. The idea is to use persistent markdown files as working memory: task_plan.md holds the plan, findings.md holds what has been learned, and progress.md records where things stand. Before continuing a task, the skill restores the project state by resolving which plan the task owns, using a helper script with a plan ID and a root setting, and then reads those three files from that one plan directory. The skill is designed so that a root-level plan does not override a named plan, and it stops and asks when more than one plan exists without an identifier. Lifecycle hooks can inject project context at set points. Because hooks can run code automatically in response to events, the listing carries a notice that you should review the hooks carefully before installing. It is listed on skills.sh by othmanadi, and the skill is free.…
