About ponytail-gain

ponytail-gain

Show ponytail's measured savings (code, cost, speed) from the benchmark

ponytail-gain is an agent skill from the dietrichgebert ponytail collection, listed on skills.sh. It displays a scoreboard of ponytail's measured savings in code, cost and speed, taken from the project's published agentic benchmark. The benchmark ran headless Claude Code on 39 tasks, including feature tickets in a FastAPI and React repository, bug fixes, security and privacy cases and small apps, with five runs each, comparing the same agent with and without the skill. Eighteen of the tasks have hidden checks for correctness and safety. Each figure is the geometric mean of per-task medians. The skill says the figures are measured and not computed from the current repository. The display uses plain ASCII bars showing ponytail as a share of the no-skill baseline. It is a one-shot display that does not change any mode or settings. A skill is a SKILL.md file of instructions that an AI agent loads when a task calls for it. It is free and open source, and the skills.sh listing shows all three security audits passing.
