power-bi-dax-optimization is an agent skill from the github/awesome-copilot collection that analyzes and improves DAX formulas used in Power BI. It examines each formula across four dimensions: performance bottlenecks, readability, compliance with best practice, and maintainability. For performance it looks for expensive operations and calculation patterns, expressions repeated across a formula that could be stored in variables, inefficient context transitions, filter complexity, and the choice of aggregation functions. The output gives specific rewrites that keep the result the same while running faster or reading more clearly. It is useful for analysts and developers who maintain Power BI models, particularly when a report is slow or when a measure has become hard to follow. Because a rewritten formula can return a different result in edge cases, such as blanks, filters and relationships, the new measure should be compared with the original on the same data before it replaces the old one.
