powerbi-modeling is an agent skill from the github/awesome-copilot collection that acts as a semantic modeling assistant for building optimized Power BI data models. It connects to an active model, in Power BI Desktop or in Fabric, to read the current structure before it gives guidance, so its advice fits the model that exists. The guidance covers star schemas with dimension and fact tables, table relationships with their cardinality and cross-filter direction, DAX measures and calculated columns, row-level security, naming conventions for tables, columns and measures, descriptions and documentation, performance tuning, calculation groups, field parameters, and model validation against best practice. It is triggered by requests such as creating a measure, adding a relationship, optimizing a model, or setting up row-level security. It is useful for analysts and modelers who are building or cleaning up a semantic model. Because the skill can connect to a live model, changes should be made to a copy or in a development workspace, and row-level security rules should be tested with real user roles before they are published, since a mistake there can expose data.
