About PowerJob
PowerJob
Enterprise job scheduling middleware with distributed computing ability
PowerJob is an open source distributed computing and job scheduling framework that lets developers schedule tasks inside their own applications. It has a web front end for managing tasks, monitoring their status and checking logs online. Four timing strategies are supported: cron expressions, fixed rate, fixed delay and an OpenAPI for custom policies such as delayed execution. Four execution modes are offered: standalone, broadcast, Map and MapReduce, and the MapReduce mode can use distributed computing resources across the cluster. Workflows based on a directed acyclic graph are supported, with job dependencies and data passed between jobs. Processors can be written in Java, Shell and Python, and support for more languages through HTTP is planned. Retry policies help a task finish when enough worker nodes are available, and the server and worker nodes can be scaled horizontally for high availability and performance. Typical uses listed include timed tasks such as issuing coupons each morning, broadcast tasks such as clearing logs across a cluster, MapReduce jobs over large data sets, delayed tasks such as processing overdue orders, and customized tasks triggered through OpenAPI. An online trial is available, the documentation is in English and Chinese, and the project is released under the Apache License 2.0.
