pptx-visual-assets

Selecting and placing approved supporting icons, images, SVGs, diagrams

pptx-visual-assets is an agent skill from the wshobson/agents collection for choosing and placing supporting visuals in an editable PowerPoint (PPTX) deck: icons, images, SVG graphics, diagrams and infographics. The guiding rule is that a visual supports a slide's message and never replaces or flattens editable content. The skill's workflow starts by deciding whether a visual actually improves understanding, then confirms the local asset path, its source, its usage rights and a short alt text before anything is placed. The asset is added with a final bounding box and a deliberate stacking order, and it is classified as content or layout design. The skill checks that the aspect ratio is kept and that no image covers readable text or hides essential information inside a picture. Its rules are practical: use simple, legible icons beside text labels, put captions next to images rather than over them, and use true SVG sources only when they are clean vectors, never a raster image wrapped in SVG and called editable. Essential labels, legends, values and process steps are recreated as native PowerPoint objects. If rights, provenance or a suitable asset are not available, the skill omits the visual and reports the gap rather than adding a placeholder that looks finished. It records the source details in the deck's source manifest. It is installed with the skills CLI from the wshobson/agents repository. Its skills.sh page showed about 2.3K installs and passing results from three security audits at the time of the scan.
