About projection-patterns

projection-patterns
Build read models and projections from event streams
projection-patterns is an agent skill from the wshobson/agents collection for building projections and read models from event streams in an event-sourced system. A projection listens to the events an application records and turns them into a view that is shaped for queries, such as a materialized view, a summary table, a search index or a real-time dashboard. The read model it produces is kept separate from the events, which are the source of truth, so queries can be fast and specific without changing how data is written. The skill covers the projection architecture, the core idea that many read models can be built from the same events, and the practical work of keeping them up to date. Its uses include building the read side of a CQRS design, creating materialized views from events, optimizing query performance, implementing real-time dashboards that update as events arrive, building search indexes from event data, and aggregating data across several event streams. Because a projection that falls behind or fails silently gives wrong answers, the skill also covers how to rebuild a read model from the events when it needs to change. The skill is installed with the skills CLI from the wshobson/agents repository. Its skills.sh page showed about 10.3K installs and passing results from three security audits at the time of the scan.
