python-appservice-deploy

Deploy Python (Flask/Django/FastAPI) code to Azure App Service Linux

python-appservice-deploy is an agent skill from Microsoft's azure-skills collection that deploys Python code, whether Flask, Django, FastAPI or a generic app, to Azure App Service on Linux. It targets the P0v3 plan and Python 3.14. If the resource group, plan or web app does not exist, the skill creates them, deriving the names from the app name, and it asks for only the app name by default. It detects the framework to give advice, then chooses a deploy path: if the project's azure.yaml names App Service as the host, it uses the azd route, and otherwise the Azure CLI route. For startup, Flask and Django rely on automatic detection by Oryx, FastAPI is started with uvicorn bound to all addresses, and other frameworks produce a warning. It turns on the build during deployment so dependencies are installed on Azure, and it deploys a zip package with az webapp deploy. The skill stops after printing a post-deploy message, and it hands off to the azure-prepare skill for virtual networks, Key Vault, databases or infrastructure as code. It is useful for developers who want a Python web app running on Azure without assembling the steps themselves. Deployments create billable Azure resources, so confirm the subscription and region before you run it. The skill passes Gen Agent Trust Hub, Socket and Snyk on skills.sh, and it has about 218,800 installs.
