About reference-design-contract

reference-design-contract
Turn vague taste, screenshots, URLs, product notes
reference-design-contract is an agent skill in the OpenDesign project that turns vague design input into a written design contract before anything is generated. The input can be taste signals, screenshots, URLs, product notes, or a loose request such as make it feel like this. The skill's goal is not to write a longer prompt. It makes the design decisions explicit enough that a later prototype, deck, redesign or image-remix run can carry them out without guessing. The skill produces three files. The first, DESIGN.md, sets out the reusable visual direction in OpenDesign's standard nine-section design-system shape. The second, design-contract.md, is the decision record: the evidence that was used, the boundaries of what to keep and what to change, the rationale, the risks and a quality gate. The third, implementation-handoff.md, gives concise build instructions for the next artifact-producing skill or for a coding agent. The skill is listed on skills.sh, with its security audit results shown there. It suits a team that has a reference they like but cannot yet say what about it they want, and that needs the answer recorded before a designer or an agent starts work.
