About retrieving-developer-knowledge

retrieving-developer-knowledge
Searches, retrieves
Retrieving developer knowledge is an agent skill that searches and retrieves official Google developer documentation, then uses it to answer technical questions. The documentation covers Google Cloud, AI and Gemini, including the ai.google.dev site, the Agent Development Kit and TensorFlow, Android, Chrome, the web, Flutter, Go, Firebase and other Google developer platforms. The skill can reach the documentation through the Developer Knowledge MCP server, or through its REST API when the MCP server is not connected. Its rules are strict about honesty. It makes a single lookup for each question and then gives the complete, executable answer, such as commands with their flags, configurations or code, directly in the reply. A lookup only counts when it succeeds. Permission, authentication, empty and error responses are failed lookups, and the skill must say so rather than answer from memory as though it had retrieved the answer. If a conceptual answer hits a quota limit, it switches to searching for keywords instead of falling back to unsourced recall. It is useful for developers who want answers grounded in Google's current documentation. It is published by Google on skills.sh under the google skills repository, with about 2.2K installs. The skills.sh listing shows Gen Agent Trust Hub, Socket and Snyk all passing.
