About ruff-recursive-fix

ruff-recursive-fix
Run Ruff checks with optional scope and rule overrides
ruff-recursive-fix is an agent skill from the github/awesome-copilot collection that runs the Ruff linter on a Python project and works through its findings in a controlled, repeated way. It can limit the scope to one folder, use the project's settings from pyproject.toml, and invoke Ruff through uv, directly, or as a Python module. It accepts per-run rule overrides such as select, ignore, extend-select and extend-ignore. It applies safe autofixes first and then unsafe ones, reviews the diff after each pass, and repeats until the findings are resolved or need a human decision. Where a finding cannot be fixed safely, the skill uses an inline noqa comment only when suppression is justified, and records why. It is useful for Python teams who want a codebase to meet a lint standard, and for cleaning up a large project in steps. Unsafe fixes can change behavior, so the diff after each pass should be read, and the tests should be run before the changes are merged. The skill is installed with the skills CLI from the github/awesome-copilot repository. Its skills.sh page showed about 1.5K installs and passing results from three security audits at the time of the scan.
