It is a guide to creating new skills that extend what an agent can do, with specialised knowledge, workflows or tool integrations. The page is specific to the deepagents CLI, which loads skills from five places, in order of precedence from lowest to highest: the built-in skills that ship with the CLI, the user's skills folder for deepagents, the shared user folder for agent tools, the project's deepagents folder, and the project's shared agents folder. When two places hold a skill with the same name, the one with higher precedence wins, so project skills override user skills, and user or project skills override the built-in ones. The guide is for developers who want to write a skill and place it where the CLI will find it, with the deepagents skills create command using the user location by default or the project location with a flag. It suits people building a library of agent skills for their own team or project.
