About start-learning

start-learning

One-time onboarding for the AI Engineering from Scratch curriculum

start-learning is a one-time onboarding skill for the AI Engineering from Scratch curriculum, which has 523 lessons across 20 phases, from linear algebra to autonomous agents. It interviews you about why you are learning, then runs the placement quiz and writes a LEARNING.md file to the current directory. That file captures why you are learning, where you should start and what your path looks like, and every later learn session reads and updates it, so it becomes the learner's record of progress. If the environment has a structured question tool, the skill uses it for each question, and otherwise it presents lettered options as plain text and waits for your reply. The onboarding keeps the host's invocation syntax in mind, so the next commands it shows you are in the right form for your agent. Because the file is written to your current directory, run the skill in the folder where you want your learning record kept. It is meant to be run once, at the start of the course, and the learn skill takes over from there. The skill passes Gen Agent Trust Hub and Socket on skills.sh, and Snyk shows a warning. It has about 4,100 installs. Install it with npx skills add https://github.com/rohitg00/ai-engineering-from-scratch --skill start-learning.
