About storybook-solidjs-vite

S

storybook-solidjs-vite

SolidJS integration with Storybook

This is a Storybook framework adapter for SolidJS, built on Vite, so you can develop and document Solid components in isolation. Storybook is a tool for building UI components outside the main app, and this package adds the Solid-specific parts: it supports both SolidJS and SolidJS 2, uses a Vite-powered builder, and is set up with TypeScript. Stories are written in the standard Storybook format, either CSF 3 or the newer CSF Next, and placed in files matching src/**/*.stories.{tsx,js}. Props are documented automatically from the component source for the Controls and Docs panels, using a TypeScript extractor, and the Docs page can show static code snippets generated from each story. The package also builds a components manifest, a JSON description of components, props and stories, with a debugger page that lists any generation errors. Storybook MCP support lets AI agents list components and read their prop documentation. Testing is integrated with Vitest and Playwright, and the adapter is compatible with existing Storybook addons. Decorators that return JSX should use a createJSXDecorator helper to avoid duplicate DOM nodes when args change.
