Description
strategic-compact is an agent skill from the ECC collection by affaan-m, listed on skills.sh. It suggests running manual context compaction at logical points in a task, instead of relying on automatic compaction that can fire at any moment. Automatic compaction often triggers mid-task and can throw away important context, because it has no sense of where one phase ends and the next begins. The skill advises compacting after a research, planning, implementation or testing phase, after finishing a major milestone, or before switching to an unrelated task in the same session. It applies to long sessions that approach context limits of around 200,000 tokens or more, to multi-phase work, and to moments when responses slow down or become less coherent because of context pressure. It is a SKILL.md file of instructions that an AI agent loads when a task calls for it. It is free and open source, and the skills.sh listing shows all three security audits passing.…
Highlights
- Manual compaction at task boundaries
- Avoids mid-task context loss
- Guidance for long sessions near 200K tokens
