About task-coordination-strategies

T

task-coordination-strategies

Decompose complex tasks, design dependency graphs

task-coordination-strategies is an agent skill from the wshobson/agents collection for breaking a complex task into units that several agents can work on at the same time, and for keeping that team coordinated. It covers decomposing a task into parallelizable pieces, with decomposition by architectural layer as one example, designing the dependency relationships between tasks so a task can be marked as blocked by another or as blocking others, and writing task descriptions with clear acceptance criteria, so each agent knows when its piece is done. The skill also covers monitoring workload across the team, rebalancing work when one agent falls behind or finishes early, and identifying the critical path, the chain of dependent tasks that sets the minimum time the whole job can take. It applies when breaking down a complex task for parallel execution, designing dependencies between tasks, writing task descriptions that can be checked, monitoring and rebalancing workload across teammates, and finding the critical path in a multi-task workflow. Coordination only helps when the dependency graph is accurate, so the agent should revise it as work reveals new links between tasks. The skill is installed with the skills CLI from the wshobson/agents repository. Its skills.sh page showed about 9.6K installs and passing results from three security audits at the time of the scan.
