About taxonomy

taxonomy
Source of truth for event taxonomy generation, data auditing
taxonomy is the Amplitude skill that serves as the source of truth for event taxonomy: how to generate, validate and audit the events a product tracks, and how to govern them over time. An agent uses it when someone asks to create or review a tracking plan, to check event and property naming, to audit data quality such as duplicate, stale or unlabelled events, or to design funnels and the relationships between events. It also covers reducing the number of event types, deprecating or hiding events, and improving data for AI features, including AI readiness and AI Controls. The skill is organised in layers, starting with foundational concepts about analytics and why event design matters, then moving to naming standards and governance practice. Other Amplitude skills read it for their naming rules, so it is the reference that the instrumentation pipeline depends on. It is part of the amplitude mcp-marketplace repository and is added to a compatible agent with the skills command. Teams that track many events, or that are changing their tracking, can use it to keep a clean, consistent plan.
