About terminal-opener

T

terminal-opener

Open an executable

terminal-opener is an agent skill from the ECC collection by affaan-m, listed on skills.sh. It opens a command in a visible terminal window by running scripts/open-terminal.js, which keeps the executable and every argument as separate entries in a process list. The skill forbids building a shell command string, and every spawn runs with shell set to false. The default is a plan that does not launch anything. A real window opens only with the --launch flag, after the person has explicitly asked for one and the argument list has been reviewed. The skill warns that the launched process inherits the full environment of the caller, including secret-bearing variables, and that the launcher does not filter the environment, so the shell it runs from should be one whose environment can safely be shared with the target command. Launcher options come before a double dash, followed by exactly one executable and its argument array. It is a SKILL.md file that an AI agent loads when a task calls for it. It is free and open source, and the skills.sh listing shows all three security audits passing.
