Design test strategies and test plans

Testing-strategy is an agent skill that designs test strategies and test plans, with the aim of balancing coverage, speed and maintenance. It is built around the testing pyramid: many fast, focused unit tests at the base, some medium-speed integration tests in the middle, and a few slow, high-confidence end-to-end tests at the top. The skill also gives a strategy for each kind of component. API endpoints get unit tests for business logic, integration tests for the HTTP layer and contract tests for consumers. Data pipelines are tested for input validation, transformation correctness and idempotency. Frontend work gets component tests, interaction tests, visual regression and accessibility checks, and infrastructure gets smoke tests, chaos engineering and load tests. You trigger it with questions such as how should we test, what tests do we need, or write tests for a feature. It is part of Anthropic's knowledge-work plugins and is useful when a team is deciding what to test before it writes the tests.
