About vscode-ext-localization

vscode-ext-localization
Localize VS Code extensions across configurations, walkthrough content
vscode-ext-localization is an agent skill from the github/awesome-copilot collection that guides the localization of Visual Studio Code extensions, covering every part of an extension the user sees. It uses three approaches, chosen by the kind of resource. Settings, commands, menus and views are localized through package.nls.LANGID.json files. Walkthrough content is localized through markdown files for each language. Strings in the extension's source code are localized through bundle.l10n.LANGID.json files. When a new localizable resource is added or changed, the translation for every language the extension supports must be created or updated at the same time, so no language is left behind. The skill is useful for extension authors who want their tools to reach users in other languages, and for maintainers adding new settings or messages to an existing extension. Machine translation may be a starting point, but translations of user-facing text should be reviewed by native speakers before release. The skill is installed with the skills CLI from the github/awesome-copilot repository. Its skills.sh page showed about 8.9K installs and passing results from three security audits at the time of the scan.
