windows-desktop-e2e

E2E testing for Windows native desktop apps

windows-desktop-e2e is an agent skill from the ECC collection by affaan-m, listed on skills.sh. It covers end-to-end testing of Windows native desktop applications using pywinauto on top of Windows UI Automation. It supports WPF, WinForms, Win32 and MFC, and Qt 5 and 6, with a dedicated section on Qt. It applies when writing or running end-to-end tests for a Windows desktop app, setting up a GUI test suite from scratch, diagnosing flaky desktop automation, adding testability such as AutomationId and accessible names to an existing app, and running desktop tests in CI on GitHub Actions windows-latest runners. It does not apply to web apps, which the listing sends to the e2e-testing skill with Playwright, or to Electron, CEF and WebView2 apps, where the HTML layer needs browser automation. Mobile apps and pure unit tests are also out of scope. A skill is a SKILL.md file of instructions that an AI agent loads when a task calls for it. It is free and open source, and the skills.sh listing shows all three security audits passing.
