winui3-migration-guide

UWP-to-WinUI 3 migration reference

winui3-migration-guide is an agent skill from the github/awesome-copilot collection that serves as a reference for moving UWP apps to WinUI 3 and the Windows App SDK. It maps legacy UWP APIs to their correct Windows App SDK equivalents, with before and after code snippets for each change. The main change it covers is in namespaces: the Windows.UI.Xaml namespaces move to Microsoft.UI.Xaml, and the guide lists the other renamed and relocated parts that a migration has to address. It is useful when migrating a UWP application, and when checking that code generated by an assistant uses current WinUI 3 APIs rather than legacy UWP patterns that may still compile but are no longer the right choice. Migrations commonly break in the places the namespace list does not reach, so the migrated app should be built and run on each supported Windows version and checked for behavior that changed, not just for compile errors. The skill is installed with the skills CLI from the github/awesome-copilot repository. Its skills.sh page showed about 5.7K installs and passing results from three security audits at the time of the scan.
