Description
Nuza is a simple, lightweight Markdown note-taking app for people who want a fast, focused alternative to apps like Obsidian. It is built for developers, writers, students, and anyone who prefers owning their notes as plain files rather than keeping them locked inside a proprietary database. Your notes stay local, portable, and readable anywhere. Nuza comes with Vim keybindings built in, along with wiki-links, backlinks, full-text search, frontmatter properties, code highlighting, tables, images, and more. It supports macOS, Windows, and Linux and is completely free and open source. The goal is not to build another productivity suite with hundreds of features. Nuza focuses on making Markdown notes feel fast, native, and distraction-free while giving you full control over your files.…

From the maker
Karan@kk61468I built nuza because I wanted a note-taking app that felt simple again. I love Markdown and Vim, but most note-taking apps come with a lot of things I don't really need. I wanted something lightweight, fast, local-first, and built around plain Markdown files. What started as a small personal project slowly evolved into a full-fledged Obsidian alternative with Vim keybindings, backlinks, wiki-links, search, frontmatter, and more. Nuza is still evolving, and I'm hoping to keep it simple instead of turning it into another bloated productivity app. Would love to hear what you think. https://nuza.puang.in
