How agentmemory wires into host coding agents via the connect command
by rohitg00Free
Description
Agentmemory-agents explains how the agentmemory memory server is connected to a host coding agent. Agentmemory is a local memory server for coding agents, and the connect command merges it into a host agent's configuration while keeping any servers that are already set up. You run agentmemory connect followed by the agent's name, such as claude-code, cursor, codex or gemini-cli, and the skill then tells you to restart the host or reload its MCP servers so it picks up the new server. The skill covers the detection of the calling agent, the names listed in the reference table, and how to read the command's result. An adapter that prints manual setup instructions has not finished the installation, so the skill asks you to check the agent's actual tool list and run a save-and-recall test. It also separates the native memory provider from the MCP connection, which are different surfaces. The skill is part of the agentmemory plugin and is useful when installing agentmemory into a specific agent.…
