Create or evaluate an architecture decision record (ADR)

Architecture is an agent skill for creating and evaluating architecture decision records, the short documents that record why a technical choice was made. It has three modes. In create mode, you ask a choice question such as whether to use Kafka or SQS for an event bus, and the skill helps you document the decision. In evaluate mode, you ask it to review an existing design, such as a microservices proposal. In system-design mode, you ask it to design a system, such as a notification system for an app. The skill points to the system-design skill for more detailed frameworks on gathering requirements, analyzing scalability and evaluating trade-offs. Recording decisions this way means a future team can see the options that were considered and the reasons one was chosen. The skill is part of Anthropic's knowledge-work plugins and uses the engineering connector guide for any tools it needs to reach.
