About aspire

aspire
Code-first orchestration for polyglot distributed apps
aspire is an agent skill from the github/awesome-copilot collection covering Aspire, a code-first toolchain for building observable, distributed applications made of several services. Aspire orchestrates containers, executables and cloud resources from a single AppHost project, and the services can be written in C#, Python, JavaScript or TypeScript, Go, Java, Rust, Bun, Deno or PowerShell. The AppHost is the central idea: it does not run the services itself, but tells each one when to start, how to find the others through service discovery, and watches for problems. The skill covers the Aspire CLI, AppHost orchestration, service discovery, integrations with common services, the MCP server that lets an agent work with a running app, the VS Code extension, Dev Containers and GitHub Codespaces. It is useful for developers building a system from several services who want one place to define how they run locally and how they are observed. The detailed reference material is kept in a references folder that the agent loads when needed. The skill's guidance is for development and orchestration, so the production deployment of the services should be planned separately. The skill is installed with the skills CLI from the github/awesome-copilot repository. Its skills.sh page showed about 9.0K installs and passing results from three security audits at the time of the scan.
