About boost-prompt

boost-prompt
Interactive workflow
boost-prompt is an agent skill from the github/awesome-copilot collection, an interactive workflow for refining a task prompt through structured questions. Its rule is that it writes no code. Instead it interviews the user about the scope and objectives of the task, the expected deliverables and success criteria, and the technical and procedural requirements, and it can explore the project with available tools to understand the task better. It asks specific clarifying questions whenever details are unclear, organizes the prompt into clear sections or steps, and checks that it is easy to follow. Once it has enough information, it produces the improved prompt as markdown and places it on the system clipboard, as well as showing it in the chat. The clipboard step uses the Joyride extension for VS Code. The skill is useful when a user has a vague idea and needs a precise prompt for another task or another agent, because a sharper prompt usually gets a better result. The workflow depends on the Joyride tool being available, and the person should read the final prompt before using it, since the skill produces text and not verified facts. The skill is installed with the skills CLI from the github/awesome-copilot repository. Its skills.sh page showed about 9.8K installs and passing results from Socket and Snyk, with a warning from Gen Agent Trust Hub at the time of the scan.
