About claude-md-improver

claude-md-improver

Audit and improve CLAUDE.md files in repositories

claude-md-improver is an agent skill from Anthropic's official plugins collection, listed on skills.sh. It audits and improves CLAUDE.md files in a repository, so that Claude Code has the right project context. The skill works in phases. The first phase, discovery, searches the repository for every CLAUDE.md file, along with variants named .claude.md and .claude.local.md, up to a shallow depth. It then evaluates each file for quality and presents a report. Only after the user approves does the skill write changes, and those are targeted improvements to the existing files rather than rewrites. It is for developers who have built up CLAUDE.md files over time and want to check that they are accurate, current and useful to Claude Code. The skill can edit those files, so the approval step is the point at which the user decides what changes.
