Maintaining a durable Markdown knowledge store

grounded-vault is an agent skill from the wshobson/agents collection for maintaining a durable Markdown knowledge store that agents compile from sources. A grounded vault is a three-layer store of plain Markdown files in which every compiled claim can be traced back to an immutable source, and every page can be checked for staleness with a single git diff. The skill teaches that pattern so it works with plain files and whichever agent is in the session. It needs only a git repository. The convention is drawn from a llm-wiki-loop project, which the skill treats as a reference rather than a dependency. The skill is meant for cases where an agent turns notes, papers, transcripts, logs or code into wiki pages that later sessions rely on, and where a reader must be able to verify each number, date or quote against its source. It also helps when pages describe code and rereading the whole codebase each session would be too expensive to check whether they still hold. Corrections are made without losing history: superseded pages are archived, never deleted. The skill points out that session state and task queues are a different problem and belong to other tools. It is installed with the skills CLI from the wshobson/agents repository. Its skills.sh page showed about 1.2K installs and passing results from three security audits at the time of the scan.
