About living-docs-governance

living-docs-governance
Keep a long-lived project's documentation from rotting
living-docs-governance is an agent skill from the ECC collection by affaan-m, listed on skills.sh. It keeps the documentation of a long-lived project from going stale. It gives the project's existing docs four separate, non-overlapping roles, the constitution, the map, the status and the history, links those roles from the agent's harness, and sets small update rules so the sources stay useful. The skill says the roles matter more than the filenames. It is a maintenance-phase practice, meant for repositories that have grown past a few modules and whose docs are drifting, for teams where agents or people keep rediscovering the same structure, for projects where nobody can quickly tell what is healthy, blocked, removed on purpose or currently authoritative, and for cases where deleted files or abandoned approaches keep coming back. For one-off exploration of an unfamiliar repository, the listing points to codebase-onboarding instead. A skill is a SKILL.md file of instructions that an AI agent loads when a task calls for it. It is free and open source, and the skills.sh listing shows all three security audits passing.
