Verify Microsoft SDK methods, find working code samples

microsoft-code-reference is an agent skill from the github/awesome-copilot collection for checking Microsoft SDK code against the official documentation. It uses three tools. The first, microsoft_docs_search, looks up an API method or class, such as the upload method on a blob client in an Azure storage library, to confirm that it exists and how it is named. The second, microsoft_code_sample_search, finds official working examples in C#, Python or JavaScript for a task such as uploading a file to blob storage, authenticating with a managed identity, or sending a message on a service bus. The third, microsoft_docs_fetch, retrieves a full reference page once a search has found it, which gives the complete signatures and the overloads. The skill's purpose is to catch hallucinated APIs, which are method names that look plausible but do not exist, and to replace them with the real ones. It applies when working with Azure SDKs, .NET libraries and other Microsoft developer tools. It is useful for any developer who uses AI assistance with Microsoft libraries, because a plausible but wrong method name costs time at build time. The documentation lookup is only as current as the official pages, and the code samples should still be compiled and tested in the project. The skill is installed with the skills CLI from the github/awesome-copilot repository. Its skills.sh page showed about 14.2K installs and passing results from three security audits at the time of the scan.
