About oo-component-documentation

oo-component-documentation

Create or update standardized object-oriented component documentation

oo-component-documentation is an agent skill from the github/awesome-copilot collection that creates new documentation for an object-oriented component, or updates an existing documentation file, by analyzing the current code. It works in two modes. In create mode, given a source file or folder, it writes a new document from the code. In update mode, given an existing documentation Markdown file, it refreshes and revises that document against the implementation. If both code and a documentation file are given, the documentation file is the output and the code is the source of truth. The mode is chosen from the path wherever possible: an existing Markdown file means update, and a source or component path means create. The skill follows a shared template and published documentation standards, so documents across a codebase have the same structure. It is useful for maintaining documentation as code changes, and for bringing a component's docs up to date after a refactor. Generated documentation describes what the code does, so the people who designed the component should confirm any intent that the code does not show. The skill is installed with the skills CLI from the github/awesome-copilot repository. Its skills.sh page showed about 1.7K installs and passing results from three security audits at the time of the scan.
