Simulate and audit closed and open quantum-system models

qutip is an agent skill for simulating and auditing closed and open quantum-system models with QuTiP 5. It covers deterministic evolution, trajectory methods, steady states, spectral analysis and phase-space workflows. It is suited to finite-dimensional quantum mechanics, quantum optics, Lindblad dynamics, trajectories, weak-coupling Bloch-Redfield models, and specialised Floquet, HEOM and permutational-invariance methods. QuTiP is not a hardware execution toolkit, and its circuit and control functions have moved to separate packages in the QuTiP family. The skill targets QuTiP 5.3.1, released on 4 August 2026. QuTiP 5.3 needs Python 3.11 or newer, along with NumPy at least 1.23.2, SciPy at least 1.9.2 excluding 1.16.0 and 1.17.0, and packaging. The skill asks you to create a dedicated environment and pin every direct dependency, so that the results can be reproduced. Use it to model a quantum system and to check that a simulation is set up correctly before you trust its output. It is part of the k-dense-ai scientific agent skills repository on GitHub, which has about 49,600 stars. The listing shows it as free, and it has about 1,700 installs.
