recipe-draft-email-from-doc
Draft Gmail messages directly from Google Doc content without manual copying
by googleworkspaceFree
Description
recipe-draft-email-from-doc is a recipe skill from the Google Workspace CLI project, listed on skills.sh. It drafts a Gmail message from the content of a Google Doc, so the text does not need to be copied by hand. It needs the gws-docs and gws-gmail skills. The three steps are to retrieve the document's content with gws docs documents get, using the document ID, to copy the text from the body, and then to send it with gws gmail +send, setting the recipient, the subject and the body. The example shows a newsletter update with a subject line. The listing says the recipient, subject and body are customisable and that the body is filled in automatically from the document. Because the recipe ends by sending an email, the user should check the recipient and the text before the send step runs. It suits people who write a newsletter, a status note or a bulletin in a Google Doc and then distribute it by email, and who want the email to match the document exactly.…
