About remotion-create

R

remotion-create

Create a new Remotion video

remotion-create is the agent skill for starting a new Remotion video project. It tells the agent how to scaffold a project and a first composition with Remotion's create-video tool. Before it runs, the skill has the agent inspect the current folder, including hidden files, and choose where to scaffold. An empty folder, or one that holds only disposable system metadata such as .DS_Store, is fine: the skill removes those metadata files first, because create-video rejects non-empty folders. The skill is careful about meaningful hidden contents: files such as .env and folders such as .git are kept rather than treated as clutter. The machine needs Node.js and Git. If a project already exists, the scaffolding step is skipped, and for other Remotion work the skill points the agent to the separate Remotion Best Practices guidance. It is installed with the skills CLI and was first seen on skills.sh in July 2026.
