About test-driven-development

test-driven-development
Use a failing behavioral test to guide a feature or bug fix
test-driven-development is an agent skill for test-driven development: write a failing test first, watch it fail, write the minimal code to make it pass, then refactor. Its core principle is that if you did not watch the test fail, you do not know whether it tests the right thing. Use it for behaviour changes where a repeatable test can demonstrate the requirement or reproduce a bug. Before starting it inspects the repository's test runner and existing coverage. For copy, generated output or low-impact configuration, it points you to a focused validation instead of a manufactured unit test. The skill has a rule for work that already exists. Write the failing regression before the repair when that is feasible, and if the implementation already exists, keep it and add characterisation and regression tests. It does not delete your work, reset a branch or rewrite working code to recreate an ideal test-first history, and it asks you to state honestly whether the test came before the fix. It is part of the sickn33/agentic-awesome-skills repository on GitHub, which has about 47,600 stars. The listing shows it as free, and it has about 1,400 installs.
