update-llms

Maintain accurate llms.txt files

update-llms is an agent skill from the github/awesome-copilot collection that maintains the llms.txt file at the root of a repository, so it stays accurate as the documentation changes. An llms.txt file is a Markdown guide for large language models that points them to the most useful content in a project. The skill reads the current file and the official specification at llmstxt.org, then compares the repository's present state against both, identifying references that are outdated, missing or incorrect, and sections that no longer match the repository. It then updates the file so it stays compliant with the specification and still reads well for people. It is useful for maintainers whose documentation has grown or moved, and who want the guide for AI tools to keep pace. The updated file should be checked against the repository, because the skill can only compare the links it can see, and a link that points to a file that was moved may need a person to decide where it should now go. The skill is installed with the skills CLI from the github/awesome-copilot repository. Its skills.sh page showed about 8.8K installs and passing results from three security audits at the time of the scan.
