About update-oo-component-documentation

update-oo-component-documentation
Update existing object-oriented component documentation following industry best
update-oo-component-documentation is an agent skill from the github/awesome-copilot collection that updates an existing documentation file for an object-oriented component by analyzing the component's current code. It takes the file the user names, reads the component path from the document's front matter or infers it from the content, and then checks the implementation against what the document says. Documentation is updated to match. The skill follows the same published standards as the create skill: the C4 model levels of context, containers, components and code, the Arc42 architecture template, the IEEE 1016 design description standard, agile principles of documentation that adds value, and a primary audience of developers and maintainers. It is useful when a component has changed and its documentation has not kept up, since keeping an existing file accurate is often more useful than writing a new one. The code is the source of truth, so intent that the code does not reveal should be confirmed by the people who designed the component, and the revised file should be reviewed before it is merged. The skill is installed with the skills CLI from the github/awesome-copilot repository. Its skills.sh page showed about 7.0K installs and passing results from three security audits at the time of the scan.
