About vercel-react-view-transitions

vercel-react-view-transitions
Native browser animations for React UI state changes
vercel-react-view-transitions is an agent skill from Vercel Labs for adding smooth, native-feeling animations between React UI states with the browser's View Transition API. The React ViewTransition component declares what should animate, startTransition, useDeferredValue or Suspense decides when the animation runs, and CSS classes and pseudo-elements control how it looks. Browsers that do not support the API skip the animation without breaking the page. The skill's central rule is that every transition should communicate a spatial relationship or continuity, and if the author cannot say what it communicates, it should not be added. It lists five patterns in an implementation order: a shared element transition named with a name prop, which signals that something is going deeper; a Suspense reveal, which signals that data has loaded; list identity keyed per item, which signals that the same items have been rearranged; enter and exit on state change, which signals that something appeared or disappeared; and a route change at page level, which signals moving to a new place. The skill asks for each pattern that fits the app to be implemented, and it skips only where there is no use case. It applies to any React app whose interface changes between states. Animations should be checked for motion sensitivity and tested in the browsers the app supports. The skill is installed with the skills CLI from the vercel-labs/agent-skills repository. Its skills.sh page showed about 153.8K installs, the most of any skill in this batch, and passing results from three security audits at the time of the scan.
