xlsx-author

Produce a .xlsx file on disk (headless) instead of driving a live Excel workbook

xlsx-author is an agent skill from Anthropic's financial-services collection, listed on skills.sh. It is for headless runs, where an agent has no Excel workbook open and must deliver a spreadsheet as a file. Instead of driving a live workbook through Excel tools, the agent writes a short Python script using the openpyxl library, which may include styling from its styles module such as fonts and fills, and runs it with Bash to build the workbook. The output contract is fixed. The file is saved to ./out/ under the requested name with an .xlsx extension, the folder is created if it is missing, and the relative path is returned in the final message so the orchestration layer can collect it. It is aimed at automated finance workflows that generate models or schedules as files, such as the output of the other financial-services skills, and not at someone editing a workbook live in Excel.
