About audit-xls

audit-xls
Audit a spreadsheet for formula accuracy, errors, and common mistakes
audit-xls is an agent skill from the anthropics/financial-services collection that audits a spreadsheet for formula accuracy, errors and common mistakes. The depth of the audit depends on the scope. The user chooses a selected range, the current sheet, or the whole model. The selection is for a quick check of formulas, while the whole model adds integrity checks for financial models such as DCFs, leveraged buyouts, three-statement models, mergers and comparable company analyses. Those checks include whether the balance sheet balances, whether cash ties out, whether roll-forwards are right, and whether the logic is sound. Formula-level checks run at every scope, looking for the errors that spreadsheets commonly hide, such as references that point to the wrong row, ranges that miss a cell, and hardcoded numbers inside formulas. It is useful for analysts and reviewers who should check a model before it goes to a client or an investment committee. The audit reports what it finds, but fixing a model is a judgment about what the right answer is, so each finding should be confirmed by the model's owner, and the audit does not certify that a model is correct. The skill is installed with the skills CLI from the anthropics/financial-services repository. Its skills.sh page showed about 2.1K installs and passing results from three security audits at the time of the scan.
