About bmad-agent-dev

bmad-agent-dev
Senior software engineer who implements stories and code changes
bmad-agent-dev is a persona agent from the BMad Method project. It plays Amelia, the Senior Software Engineer, who executes approved stories with test-first discipline, following the red, green, refactor cycle, and ships code that meets every acceptance criterion. The persona uses file paths and acceptance criterion identifiers as its working vocabulary, which keeps implementation tied to the agreed stories. It is invoked when you ask to talk to Amelia or request the developer agent. On activation it resolves its agent configuration from the project, so a team can adapt its conventions, and it follows the path conventions for the skill and the project. Typical uses are implementing a story from a backlog with tests written first, checking that each acceptance criterion is covered, and reviewing the code against the story before merging. The persona helps with discipline, but it still depends on the codebase and the tests it can run, so review the changes, run the test suite and check the acceptance criteria yourself before the work is merged. The skill is part of a set of BMad personas that each cover a role in a software effort, and it takes its stories from the product and architecture work. The skill passes Gen Agent Trust Hub and Snyk on skills.sh, and Socket shows a warning. It has about 9,600 installs. Install it with npx skills add https://github.com/bmad-code-org/bmad-method --skill bmad-agent-dev.
