About doubt-driven-development

doubt-driven-development
Subjects every non-trivial decision
doubt-driven-development is an agent skill from Addy Osmani's agent-skills collection that sends every non-trivial decision to a fresh-context adversarial reviewer before it stands. The skill's premise is that a confident answer is not necessarily a correct one. Long sessions pile up context that quietly turns assumptions into apparent facts, and no one notices. The reviewer is meant to try to disprove the output rather than approve it, and it works while course correction is still cheap. The skill says it is not the same as a review. A review is a verdict on a finished artifact, while this is an in-flight check on decisions as they are made. A decision counts as non-trivial when it introduces or changes branching logic, crosses a module or service boundary, asserts something the type system or compiler cannot verify, such as thread safety, idempotence, ordering or invariants, depends on context that a future reader cannot see, or has an irreversible blast radius such as a production deploy, a data migration or a public API change. The skill is listed on skills.sh, with its security audit results shown there.
