The successor path is Prisma 8, where MongoDB support is in Early Access and PostgreSQL support is at release candidate. The skill frames the real choice: migrate to Prisma 8, which it encourages, or stay on v6 where a hard blocker applies, and it carries the migration steps while pointing to the official Prisma ORM 6 to 8 MongoDB guide as the source of truth. It sets two firm limits. It must never advise a MongoDB project to upgrade to Prisma 7, and it must not solve the version question by moving the app to a SQL database, since changing the engine is a separate and much larger decision.
