About session-guard

session-guard
Working on complex multi-step tasks, when a session is getting long
session-guard is an agent skill from the wshobson/agents collection for keeping an AI agent reliable during long, multi-step sessions. Its premise is that long sessions degrade quietly: when the context is compacted to fit, instructions can be dropped without notice, and the agent may begin to contradict earlier decisions or drift from conventions it followed at the start. The skill addresses this through behavioral self-enforcement rather than packages or databases. It has the agent monitor a set of health signals, anchor the critical rules so they survive compaction, and split the work into smaller pieces before the session becomes unreliable. The skill applies when working on complex multi-step tasks, when a session runs past about 40 tool calls, when the agent starts ignoring rules it followed earlier, after any context compaction event, when style or naming conventions begin to drift, and when the scope of a task keeps growing without limit. The health signals are the practical checks: whether earlier decisions still hold, whether the conventions are still being followed, and whether the task has become too large to keep in view. The skill does not stop an agent from making mistakes, and the person running the session still reviews the output at each stage. The skill is installed with the skills CLI from the wshobson/agents repository. Its skills.sh page showed about 2.6K installs and passing results from three security audits at the time of the scan.
