About write-swift

write-swift
How to write modern Swift well
write-swift is an agent skill that explains how to write modern Swift well, current through Swift 6.4. It covers modelling with value types, Swift 6 data-race safety and approachable concurrency, including concurrency keywords such as @concurrent, main-actor-by-default, and actors. The toolchain baseline is Swift 6.3, and the skill marks features from the unreleased 6.4 with a warning symbol. Its through-line is that Swift is a progressive-disclosure language: start with the simplest, most static and single-threaded thing that works, and add concurrency, reference semantics, existential types or unsafe pointers only where you can state the reason. The skill sets out a hierarchy of defaults, and it says to move down a level only for a reason you can give. Concurrency guidance assumes the Swift 6.2 model, so if a project is on Swift 6.1 or earlier, those rules do not apply. Use it when writing or reviewing Swift code for an app or library and you want idiomatic choices for the current language. The skill contains shell command directives, and the listing notes that you should review them carefully before installing.
