About deanpeters/roadmap-planning

deanpeters/roadmap-planning
Strategic roadmap process: inputs → epics → prioritize → sequence → communicate
roadmap-planning is a workflow skill for building a strategic roadmap. It orchestrates prioritization, epic definition, stakeholder alignment and release sequencing into one structured process. The aim is to move from disconnected feature requests to a cohesive, outcome-driven roadmap that aligns stakeholders, sequences work logically and communicates the strategic intent behind it. The skill is written to avoid feature factory roadmaps that have no strategic narrative or customer-centric framing. It fits three situations: building a roadmap that will survive an executive review, prioritizing competing initiatives across several teams, and planning and sequencing the work for the next quarter or half-year. Example requests include fifteen competing initiatives that need to become a Q2 roadmap the executive team will approve, and a six-month roadmap that has to sequence work across three teams. You pass the product and planning horizon as the argument. The estimated session is 45 to 90 minutes, and the skill sits in the strategy and positioning theme of the product-manager-skills repository on GitHub.
