The steps are to list the folder's contents by querying its parent folder ID, then download each file one at a time with gws drive files get, which fetches the file's media. Google Docs and Sheets cannot be downloaded in their native format, so the recipe shows how to export them, for example as a PDF with gws drive files export and a PDF MIME type. The commands are run with JSON parameters for the file and folder IDs, and the output filename is set with -o. The recipe requires the gws-drive skill and the gws binary. It suits people who need a local copy of a shared folder, such as an archive of project documents or a set of exports, and who would rather script the download than click through each file in Drive.
